Chase Paymentech Technical Profile for Trevance

Sample Profile: Trevance v1.x

The following is a sample Chase Paymentech Technical Profile completed for Trevance® Version 1.2 This is only an example showing the maximum Trevance functionality. You may not be implementing all available functionality. You should only check off the functionality you intend to use.

Since Trevance is already fully certified with Chase Paymentech, the Chase Paymentech certification team will take you through an abbreviated certification process. Primarily, Chase Paymentech is checking to see your communications are working properly and that you are sending the types of data and transactions they are expecting. Additionally, this mini-certification ensures all the Chase Paymentech server settings are configured properly.

We've included some comments throughout the sample.

13. Connectivity Testing

Merchant certification includes connectivity testing where the line or service port is disabled.
The merchant is expected:
  • To send and receive a 1000 record batch file.
  • To receive an error message when the line or service port is disabled while sending or receiving a file.
  • Be able to recover when the line or socket is enabled.
  • Recognize a "No Data" Message.

To facilitate our certification we would like the following information:

  • 1000 Record Batch File
    Is there a program or control file the merchant can manipulate to easily create a 1000 record batch file?
    • YES: (you will need to generate your own 1,000 record file for testing)
  • Batch:
    • What is the error message the user receives when they are sending/receiving a file and the line is disabled?
      • Sending: Socket Error # 10065 No Route To Host
      • Receiving: Socket Error #10065 No Route To Host
    • If there is no data available to pick up, will the user get Paymentech's default "no data available" message?
      If no--what is the message?
      • No Files Available On Server
    • Will the software retry sending/receiving a file without manual intervention?
